About office_user
I’m Susan Fendler, the author of The Daily Guide to the Yoga Sutras and a devoted yoga teacher with over 20 years of experience in yoga and meditation. I welcome students of all levels into my classes, from gentle, restorative sessions for beginners to Level 3 advanced practices, always aiming to create a nurturing environment where each person feels supported and seen.
After exploring many forms of yoga, I developed an approach I call “Creative Flow,” which draws from Vinyasa flow, Anusara, Hatha, Core Power, and a form I created called Buddhi Yoga which is similar to the Ashtanga practice. My classes are an interactive experience, incorporating hands-on assists that help students feel rejuvenated, balanced, and uplifted.
I was fortunate to deepen my practice and training in the birthplace of yoga, Rishikesh, India, and at Triguna Ashram, where I earned my advanced 500 RYS® certification. Bali is one of my favorite places, and I feel grateful to lead international yoga retreats there, sharing my love of the practice in such a beautiful and inspiring setting.
I currently teach in Park City, UT, where I have the joy of sharing the wisdom of the Yoga Sutras with my students. With a background in music and a Master’s degree from Eastman School of Music, I love bringing music into my teaching. I often play the harmonium and sing during meditation and savasana, adding a soulful element to my classes. I also enjoy designing special, music-filled classes for holidays and unique events, creating a space to celebrate and connect in new ways.
I see yoga as a moving meditation that offers both physical and spiritual healing, and I focus on alignment and engaging all areas of the body to encourage this transformation. My greatest joy is helping students discover their individual strengths and guiding them with care and sensitivity toward their highest potential.
To me, yoga is both playful and profound, a practice that combines joy with depth. I hope my intuitive, heart-centered approach invites each of my students to find not only greater physical well-being but also a renewed sense of inner peace and spiritual connection.
