Park City School of Yoga offers an eclectic, intensive 17-day yoga teacher training where you have the opportunity to let go of the everyday routine of life and become immersed in the world of yoga. We believe that you will retain and keep imprinted on your heart all that you learn through a deep immersion. Park City School of Yoga offers all-encompassing training, including the styles of Ashtanga, Hatha, Vinyasa, Anusara®, and Kundalini. Our staff of 6 teachers will share their expertise in technique and alignment, meditation, anatomy, pranayama, meditation, emotional release techniques, and ayurvedic health. Unlike other trainings in the US, we encourage you to stay at our yoga residence along with the other participants. This will only deepen your experience as you immerse and begin to see how yoga becomes not just what we do on our mats but a lifestyle.  You will learn how to heal yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally using the five elements, asana, meditation, emotional detoxification kriyas, and breathing techniques. We encourage you to dig deep as you explore your inner world during this 16-day intensive training program.

Owner Yoga Awakening 
​Susan found her love for yoga over 20 years ago through the studies of Jon Kabat-Zinn’s MBSR (mindfulness-based stress reduction program).  Susan believes in finding each student’s individual strengths and joyfully guides them to reach their full potential. Her spirit and intuitive nature bring her students to a higher level of physical and spiritual practice. Her classes incorporate Vinyasa flow, Hatha, Ashtanga, and Anusara. Susan’s spirit is reflected when she often plays her harmonium and singing bowls during meditation and savasana. Incorporating her love of music, she has also choreographed many classes designed for special events and holidays. Her classes’ main emphasis is on proper alignment and working all the body areas so that both internal physical and mental healing can occur.  Susan is the founder of Park City Spa Yoga which works privately with clients combining yoga, massage, and assisted stretching.  Susan has her Anusara® Inspired Certification and RYT® 500 from Triguna Yoga in Rishikesh, India. She also holds a Masters’s degree in Music.  Opening Park City School of Yoga was a dream come true. She based the school’s format on the incredible training that she received from her beloved teachers in Rishikesh, India.

Sherri Lukac brings to Red House Wellness more than 25 years of experience in the health and wellness field. She holds a BS degree in Exercise Physiology from Oregon State University. She is a Certified Life Coach, Certified Baptiste Power Yoga, Certified Aerial Yoga Teacher and a Passion Test Facilitator. Sherri has held leadership positions in Junior League and International Women’s Club, as well as being an active philanthropic contributor to her local communities.

Maggie Koblasova

Maggie Koblasova Ayurvedic Doctor, M. Ayu, CAS, eRYT500

Immersing oneself in the practice and study of Ayurveda and Yoga provides the path to release from pain and suffering in the world. Margaret’s passion is to pass on these principles which she was fortunate to receive from her  teachers. Our body/mind is our laboratory field of experience. Through conscious practice of classical Yoga coupled with a sincere application of Ayurvedic principles, our journey is limitless. This is the pathway to peace within ourselves and subsequently, peace throughout the world.

Margaret is the founder and director of Ananda Ayurveda LLC in Park City, UT.  She worked as a Clinical Ayurvedic Practitioner for almost fifteen years before entering programs leading to Ayurvedic Doctor.  She leads workshops, cleanses and retreats.  She has been a yoga instructor twenty years, 9 years at Yoga Works in Orange County, CA and the rest in Park City UT.  She teaches internationally, each year at the Sivananda Ashram, Paradise Island, Bahamas as adjunct faculty for the California College of Ayurveda.   She has been a kriyaban of Paramahansa Yogananda’s tradition for twenty years.  Her teachers include Yogi Lapatraj Sharma, Swami Niramalananda and Mukunda Stiles of the Siddha Yoga tradition, and Swami Ghan Shayam of Hardiwar, as well as Dr. Siva and others at the California College of Ayurveda.    

Eli Kagan

Eli Kagan -RYT500

Among other things, Elijah is a Sattva Himalyan Kundalini teacher. He studied in Rishikesh India with his guru and master Ananad Meherotra. Each practice with Elijah is a tailor made progression, combining emotional release techniques as well as kriya and asana, designed towards enlightenment and transformation. Elijah found Kundalini while traveling in Thailand, after an honorable discharge from the military, as he “randomly” met a traveling yogi that opened him up to the ancient teachings of Tantra. Since then Elijah has been learning and teaching around the world in countries such as India, Sri Lanka, Czech Republic, Israel, Sweden, and the USA. With a deep devotion to the practice Elijah is currently studying western philosophy and psychology to gain greater understanding of mankind and how to aid in bringing others to empowerment and true actualization.

Housing and food during training

Students are encouraged but not required to stay at our resident housing during the training. Students are also encouraged to eat all meals with the other students.

200-Hour RYS® Training

Students will gain extensive knowledge of yoga postures and will increase their physical strength, mental clarity, and flexibility. Learning hands-on assists will be an important part of this training. Students will learn and demonstrate the beginning of the Ashtanga Primary Series in addition to a Vinyasa flow sequence and Anusara® which focuses on alignment, a heart-centered theme, and working up to a peak pose.

Pranayama is an ancient yogic breathing technique that is used as preparation for meditation and is a vital aspect of practicing yoga. It improves the respiratory system and purifies the body and mind. Pranayama topics include Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing), Ujjayi (the psychic or victorious breath), Sheetali (cooling breath), Shitkari (hissing breath), Kapalabhati (frontal brain cleansing breath – breath of fire), Bhramari (humming bee breath), Bhastrika (bellows breath), Suryabheda (vitality stimulating breath) including advance variations.

The purpose of mantra chanting in yoga is to generate vibrations and connect with the universe. Each mantra has it’s own unique vibration.
Each morning students will learn a new chant accompanied by the harmonium.

The practice of mudra is an ancient facet of yoga. Performing gestures affects the energy flow of the body and can change a person’s spiritual and mental characteristics.

Emotional detoxification kriyas are a combination of removing knots in the body through pressing points, breathing techniques, release through sound and laughter and meditation. It is very effective to release the effect of emotions and other toxins in the body. Through extensive practice students will begin to understand the relationship between thought patterns and emotional accumulation in the body. Students will work together to apply massage-like pressure to certain body points in order to release emotional trauma.

Meditation is a systematic practice that promotes physical, mental, and emotional tranquillity. It increases the vital energy in the body and gives you more aliveness, good blood circulation and a relaxed nervous system.

A yoga teacher should efficiently perform the practical applications of class planning and preparation. At Park City School of Yoga, students will learn how to create a positive and peaceful class environment for an enjoyable and transformative experience.

• Qualities of a teacher and teaching styles
• How to use the breath and voice while teaching
• Yoga asana compared to physical exercises
• Observing, assisting and correcting

Students will take turns practicing their teaching skills by performing in front of their peers and teachers. There will be demonstration, alignment, and instructions.

Proper understanding of the physical body will help to prevent injury before, during, and after practice.

2. Practical anatomy with a major emphasis on muscular and skeletal structures and in-depth study of anatomical and skeletal differences (i.e. compression, tension, and proportion and orientation theory)

Yoga philosophy is the foundation of our yoga practice and is the key to creating yogic strength. Through the path of yogic philosophy, you will establish a solid, well-rounded yoga practice.

When a yoga practitioner moves through the various internal states of Yoga Nidra, a profound experience of relaxation occurs. This is called “turiya,” a sensation of pure bliss. This will cover basic relaxation, tension relaxation, and full body relaxation.

You will learn about the 5 elements and how to use them to detoxify body and mind. Mud, water and air (breathing) therapy will be practiced as well as how to increase the fire and ether elements in life.
